Sleep, hibernate, and idle behavior
Idle behavior runs through swayidle, paired with a couple of systemd sleep settings.
~/.config/swayidle/config:
# 5 min -> dim brightness and lock
timeout 300 'brightnessctl -s set 1%; qs -c noctalia-shell ipc call lockScreen lock' resume 'brightnessctl -r'
# 10 min -> turn off displays
timeout 600 'niri msg action power-off-monitors' resume 'niri msg action power-on-monitors'
# 30 min -> suspend then hibernate
timeout 1800 'systemctl suspend-then-hibernate'
# always lock before sleeping
before-sleep 'qs -c noctalia-shell ipc call lockScreen lock'
lock 'qs -c noctalia-shell ipc call lockScreen lock'Two more settings outside the swayidle config itself:
/etc/systemd/sleep.conf:AllowSuspendThenHibernate=yes,HibernateDelaySec=2h/etc/systemd/logind.conf:HandlePowerKey=hibernate,HandlePowerKeyLongPress=suspend-then-hibernate
Suspend-then-hibernate needs a swap file or partition sized for hibernation.
